FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: TEAR TROUGH INJECTIONS
What is Tear Trough Rejuvenation? This is a non-surgical aesthetic treatment designed to address lower eyelid dark circles, hollows or depressions. It aims to restore a youthful and refreshed appearance around the eyes.
What Causes Tear Trough Defects? They can result from a combination of factors, including ageing, loss of soft tissue volume in the mid-face, and weakening of the orbital septum. These contribute to the visibility of the bony orbital margin and the formation of dark shadows or hollows.
What Products Do You Use? The dermal fillers used in Tear Trough Rejuvenation at our clinic are safe because we use only branded HA filler. These offer a less invasive alternative to surgical options, restoring a youthful shape to the face.
How Does Tear Trough Rejuvenation Work? The procedure typically involves the strategic use of dermal fillers to add volume to the under-eye area, reducing the appearance of dark circles, hollows, or bags.

Does the Procedure Hurt? Discomfort is minimal for most patients, as we mix our products with a local anaesthetic. Possible side effects include minor lumpiness, swelling, puffiness or bruising. but this is uncommon. In rare cases, injections may cause longer-lasting redness or a bluish tinge under the skin and complications are usually reversible. The procedure typically takes about 30 minutes and the actual injection process is quick and efficient.
Does it Treat Under-Eye Hyperpigmentation? While filler addresses grooves and mild shadowing, strong hyperpigmentation may not be eliminated. Other treatments might be more effective.
What About Downtime And Results? Downtime is minimal, and makeup can generally be applied an hour after the treatment to conceal any temporary discoloration. Results from Tear Trough Rejuvenation are temporary and can last anywhere from several months to a year, depending on individual factors and the specific filler used. Repeat treatments are typically required to maintain the desired effect.
